Marie-Galante Baylavwa is an experimental project aimed at young people in rural areas who are disengaged due to a lack of training and employment opportunities. It targets young people aged 16 to 30 who are school dropouts or have low qualifications, suffering from a lack of social recognition and struggling with a loss of identity.<\/p>\n
Participation in activities related to cultural heritage serves as a powerful tool for non-formal education, helping to affirm identity and allowing participants to embrace a shared history, while becoming agents of transmission within their community.<\/p>\n

Marie-Galante Baylavwa aims to:<\/p>\n
– Raise awareness among young Guadeloupeans about Intangible Cultural Heritage (PCI).
– Develop a range of activities and training related to the safeguarding, transmission, and promotion of PCI.
– Inform about professional opportunities offered by careers in PCI.<\/p>\n
The challenge of the Marie-Galante Baylavwa project is to view the safeguarding and promotion of PCI as a social and professional integration opportunity. It seeks to engage young people through workshops focused on raising awareness, introducing ancestral skills, and teaching PCI inventory methodologies.<\/p>\n
